Do you respond to cold-night heating emergencies?
Yes. No-heat calls are treated as emergencies year-round in Las Cruces. We target a 1 to 2 hour response window inside the city limits, day or night, holiday or weekday. Outlying communities run 1 to 3 hours depending on traffic and current job load.
Can a heat pump handle Las Cruces winters?
Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps perform well down to the lows we see in the Mesilla Valley. Auxiliary heat (electric strip or a gas furnace as backup) handles the rare deep cold snap. Operating cost in our climate usually beats a gas furnace by a wide margin, and you replace two pieces of equipment with one. We'll show you the math on paper.
Do I need a furnace tune-up every year?
Yes. An annual tune-up catches cracked heat exchangers, weak igniters, dirty flame sensors, and bad flue draft before they leave you with no heat on a 28°F night. It's the cheapest insurance in HVAC, and on gas equipment it's a safety check, not just a maintenance check.
Do you work on mini-split heat pumps?
Yes. Ductless mini-split heat pumps are common in adobe homes, additions, casitas, and mobile homes around Las Cruces. We repair, service, and install single-zone and multi-zone systems.
What if my CO alarm goes off?
Stop running the furnace, ventilate the home, and call us. We come immediately. Cracked heat exchangers, blocked flues, and bad gas connections are not a wait-and-see issue. Our diagnostic includes a combustion analysis and CO check on every visit.
Should I replace or repair?
Same honest test we use on AC: if the repair is more than 40% of replacement, the unit is over 15 years old, or the heat exchanger is cracked, we'll show you both options on paper. We don't push replacements.
